Produce
Where is it from?
All our produce falls under one of three categories. Local, Organic, or Local Organic.
Local produce comes to us from within 50 miles. This includes the following non-certified Organic growers: Pierre Ovanin, Mike Brilowski of Lettuce Love Gardens, Whitefeather Organics (certification pending), and Hughlett's Little Acres. SPAC will enter into a verbal agreement with each grower to ensure that all produce was grown with Organic standards in mind. We do not require growers to obtain Organic certification at this time, however, using synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or other chemicals on or near produce that is being sold to SPAC is not acceptable. SPAC reserves the right to refuse any produce that does not meet our quality standards. This also includes freshness and appearance.
Certified Organic produce that is not grown locally. This includes produce from Co-op Partners Warehouse in St. Paul, MN. Origins include: Washington, California, Florida, Mexico, etc. This also includes regional locations like North Dakota, Minnesota, and Michigan.
Local Organic is both local and certified Organic. Produce is distributed by Simply Wisconsin llc. and includes but is not limited to growers such as Andy Troyer, Future Fruit, Happy Valley, Hidden Valley, L&L Greenhouse, Malek Farms, Meadowbrook, Nature Nook, Pleasant Valley, Tipi, Twin Hawks, and West Star.
