Our History
The Stevens point Area Co-op is a
cooperatively owned and run natural food store, providing the
community with local and organic produce, groceries, herbs,
supplements, and the largest bulk grocery section in Portage
County.
We began as a buying club in the fall of
1972 and, after occupying a series of temporary storefronts
from 1974 through 1975, we moved to our present location at the
corner of 2nd St and 4th Ave. in the fall of 1976. We have been
serving the community and growing ever since.
Our Building was constructed in 1909 and
was originally a mercantile. The upstairs has been eveything
from a dance hall, to a boxing venue to a roller rink!
