Giving Back

The Co-op supports community events and organizations with objectives that are inline with the principles we strive to abide by in service of our own membership. As part of our mission we support our community through charitable donations and our 1% Fridays and Produce for the People programs.

Donations

The Co-op supports many local non-profit organizations with their fundraising efforts.  Contact the Communications Circle at COMMUNICATIONS@spacoop.com to arrange for goods to raffle or auction off at your big event!

1% Fridays

Since April 2000, we’ve earmarked 1% of our total sales each Friday throughout the year for charitable donations. We choose to give to organizations that we believe are reputable, serve a need, and reflect principles of the SPA Co-op and its members. If you have an organization that you would like us to consider, please send information to the Stevens Point Area Cooperative to Andrew or call 715- -341-1555 ext. 322

2025 1 % Fridays Winners

Congratulations to the following organizations! January starts off with Recycling Connections as its 1% Fridays recipient. Check out our “Giving Back” tab to learn more about this awesome program. The following is a list of all of the 1% Friday winners for the year starting with February: North Central Conservancy Trust, Central Moraines Ice age Trail, MREA, CAP Services, Raptor Education Group, Stevens Point Sculpture Park, South Wood County Humane Society, Farmshed, Portage County Breastfeeding Coalition, Central Wisconsin Children’s Museum, and Portage County Humane Society.

Produce for the People

In 2017, we started an initiative to donate the sales of our scratch and dent organic produce to local hunger prevention programs in our area. Two programs are chosen each year. If you have an organization you'd like us to consider, please send information to Jessica Lawson or call us at 715--341-1555 ext. 318

Giving for the Holidays

For over 10 years, the Co-op has sponsored a local family in need through Operation Bootstrap's Holiday Basket Program. With donations collected at the registers, we will provide a holiday meal, gifts and homemade goodies. For more information about the Holiday Basket program contact Jessica Lawson at 715--341-1555 x318. Members are welcome to contribute gifts and homemade specialties, as well cash donations.
